Welcome to Pacific Reentry Career Services
Advocating for fair chance hiring policies and supporting formerly incarcerated people in finding meaningful employment
Pacific Reentry Career Services provides free career assistance to formerly incarcerated people looking for employment following release. We focus on helping formerly incarcerated women; however, our services are available to all justice-involved individuals in the Orange County, CA area. We also work to educate employers on fair chance hiring.
Our direct client services include:
- Job search training
- Interview skills seminars
- Individual mentorship
- Career coaching
- Resume/job application workshops
- Ongoing job search support
- Support during the first months of employment
- Job search guide to assist in job search planning
The overriding objective of Pacific Reentry Career Services is to reduce recidivism among the formerly incarcerated by providing a foundation for lasting employment. It is estimated that nearly 40 percent of former female prisoners will return to jail within three years of being released. Of those, almost 75 percent return to jail within the first year alone. Attaining gainful employment will help to establish stability in the lives of those we serve so that they may build a strong foundation for post-incarceration success.
We also work with employers to educate them on the benefits of hiring the formerly incarcerated, and we partner with reentry service providers to support the full integration of the formerly incarcerated back into the community.
We are currently accepting new clients and looking for volunteer mentors and employers who want to learn more about the value of hiring the formerly incarcerated. Visit our Become a Client and Get Involved pages for more information.
